It matters I’ve succeeded.
But it doesn’t matter most.

It matters that I’ve failed.
But it doesn’t matter most.

It matters who I’ve loved.
But it doesn’t matter most.

It matters who I’ve lost.
But it doesn’t matter most.

It matters I’ve felt joy.
But it doesn’t matter most.

It matters I’ve felt pain.
But it doesn’t matter most.

Do I engage with these great teachers,
taking time in deep reflection?

Or skim across the surface,
and ignore my greatest lessons?

Life’s secret, whispered softly,
to those who lean in close,
“Events, are only guests.
Contrast, is your host.”
