Will You Grow And Give?
Lewis Howes did an interview with Anthony Robbins as part of his highly recommendable podcast “The School of Greatness”.
At some point, Robbins turned the seats around and asked Lewis two question about his life and where he gets meaning from.
What were two magnificent events in your life?
How did you feel about these achievements?
If you don’t recognize some kind of growth within yourself and some kind of contribution to others, you haven’t achieved really amazing things, according to Robbins.
How to find meaning is certainly a question I asked myself more than once — and probably too many times during my university time and when I started my work career.
Looking back, it paid off. I found it. I am happy.
It certainly took me awhile. I needed to go down the rabbit hole. I needed to face reality — not my dream land up there in my head. I needed to stop lying to myself and stop blaming others. I needed to do so many things but— for now — it pays off.
The next time you are about to set a goal or if you now revisit your goals, (re)evaluate your goals on two levels:
Will you be growing?
Will you be giving and contribute to others?
AND remember to love yourself. Expect the best. Choose yourself and don’t wait to be happy. Choose to be happy.
