As an integral part of our Blog, BEAM is highlighting the fantastic Ambassadors helping us, day-after-day, build a fairer future where both paradigms of privacy and financial value are protected for individuals. This time, let’s meet and know the “mother” of this incredible program, Vera Beliavska which is managing a platoon of around 20 ambassadors when we write these lines.

Vera Beliavska — Head of Ambassador at Beam

Who are you, Vera?

Vera is Beam Jessica Rabbit

I am a French teacher, hitchhiker, gamer, DC fan, crypto advocate, salesperson in IT, and a charming young lady associated with Jessica Rabbit. I’m always on my phone, chatting and sending messages, and thank God I found out how I can use it. I am a brazen and boorish girl with several illusions about how this world should look like, how people should behave to each other, and how the Internet is a safe part of our lives.

Do not expect me to know the whole technical part, expect me to find out problems. I believe in two statements:

Do you need some more explanation regarding why am I here?

Why BEAM?

It is not about this elusive, ghostly elegance of the protocol, not about an unoccupied niche, a small competition or the modern and bizarre word “blockchain.” It is all about practical life of a usual 25 year-old person, who wants to be sure that private data is really private, that my bank account is only mine and not somebody else’s, that phone I’m using is safe, and that my statements in social networks remain only with and for those to whom it may concern.

Let’s say BEAM is an Absolute Super-hero project in my personal Universe.

The Absolute Super-hero project is neither an ideal one, nor with disadvantages, but rather protects the BIG IDEA and fights against an Absolute Evil.

“The espionage, the betrayals, the arrests.. will never cease.”

What do you enjoy working on?

Vera and her dog

I enjoy the process of communication in any way possible — chatting, meeting, parties, long and tedious conferences with Q&A sessions, and branches — all the stuff which techy people usually hate.

Even though it is something they hate, it is something that they need to do. Luckily that’s my job. Need to mention, that like a child on the XXIst century I hate phone calls — kill me, but this is something useless in modern times.

Curiosity and something that Israelis called “chutzpa” always drive me to meet new people.

I do believe that written communication and the safe world could co-exist. Wanna know how? Ask Team BEAM.

What do you want to see in a privacy-oriented digital world?

It can be just something basic. Just ask me before you want to use my data or my voice, or my whatever. Do not steal my passwords, do not use my social networks, do not touch everything where is a mental sticker “MINE.” If I want to share, I will. Am I not talking about something obvious?

Why should someone become a BEAM Ambassador?

First of all, because such a charming lady manages it =) Joke.

First of all, because the protocol used by Team Beam, Mimblewimble, is one of the most interesting protocols since 2008.

Everyone likes to work with professionals. It is not a secret that the cryptospace is a world of unfulfilled obligations, deadlines, lost transactions, and insufficient funding (for various reasons). Can all this be avoided? Of course, here is a link to our ambassador program. Well, and the idea, of course. Who are we without our ideas and inside philosophy?
