Here at Beam we’re always looking to provide our partners with feedback so they can improve their customer offerings and enrich their services. Our secret sauce? Arming Beamers with an arsenal of tools within the app so they can easily share their perspective on the experience they’ve just had with a business.

When we decide on our product roadmap and new features to build, watching our customers (business owners) progress, as well as listening to their feedback is crucial. This year we’ve learnt that by providing business owners with tools to easily-digest rich customer data, they’re better positioned to use these helpful insights to improve their business offering. This makes us pretty damn happy.

We’ve seen first-hand that once a business really understands their customer base, it’s easier for them to connect with their clients. And we’re excited because our latest app update provides better ways for Beamers to provide feedback to businesses through a variety of channels.

Actionable receipts

In the latest version of the application, we now give Beamers the opportunity to give feedback straight from their receipt. We’re chuffed with this feature because it gives the retailer even more context about their customers' comments and makes it easier for the customer to tell the business about their experience.

Even more opportunities to capture customer feedback

We know that the closer you capture customer feedback to the time of their transaction, the better. However, we know in the real world it’s easier said than done. So to help maximise the chances of customers leaving feedback, we’ve extended the window for them to leave their comments. That way if the customer is in a rush, the business doesn’t miss out on hearing what they have to say. We’ll gently remind Beamer’s in their home feed to leave a comment on their receipt for 24 hours after the transaction is complete.

Identifying trends to improve your business

We initially started collecting customer feedback to help merchants better understand and resolve customer issues. Plus, we wanted to give merchants a way to hear the amazing compliments given by their customers.

After reviewing the data, we were blown away by just how willing customers were to compliment merchants they shopped at! From kudos for awesome coffee, to praise for top-notch service, we witnessed thousands of digital warm and fuzzies come through the app every day.

So instead of keeping this to ourselves, we’ve decided to share the love and shout-out about these awesome businesses for everyone to see! Using comments and badges to display this feel-good feedback, if a store constantly receives compliments about their great coffee or fab service everyone knows and wins!

By showcasing the positive feedback of Beamers we hope this will help our community two-fold. Customers get to benefit from the experience of other Beamers and businesses can use their positive comments to help attract new Beamers through their door.

With every new release, we are continually looking to improve the Beam experience by providing new tools to our partners and also to our Beamers. Communication is important in any relationship, and we believe these new tools will help even more businesses grow and empower their customers to be heard.
