Hello!

If you haven’t already guessed, my name is Paul and I’m a professional creative (well a creative professional!), more specifically, a film maker, a photographer, a workshop facilitator and the Head of Media at Beatfreeks. It’s a wonderfully vibrant lifestyle where my life has been consumed by what I love, and that’s exactly how I like it.

I travelled from school to 6th form to college to university, without much of a clue what to do until I found a love for broadcast media at college. I then chased the dream to the University of Lincoln, and once graduated, took a Canon 650D and a printer to dog shows up and down the country selling pet portraits as a freelance photographer (true story). Following my return to Redditch, I followed a link to Beatfreeks via Gumtree, spent 3 months as a intern shooting some really cool projects for Beatfreeks TV and never left.

My role today includes managing our media services for Beatfreeks Consulting(Have a look: http://www.beatfreeksconsulting.com/), including delivering video production, photography and workshops. I also manage the core media work for Beatfreeks Arts(Have a look:http://www.beatfreeks.com/), which includes delivering our wonderful series of academies known as BACE. (Check that out here: http://on.fb.me/1yrvuCH) And the main focus running up to March is the production of the first ever Equinox: West Midlands Mixed Media Awards, which is very exciting! (Check that out here: http://bit.ly/1wPJNtK)

You can follow my blogs for media production and freelancing tips and advice, as well as a glimpse into my work and journey as the year goes on, I imagine there to be lots of discourse regarding politics, social change and exciting happenings in the land of Brum!

I’d love to hear thoughts, comments and any other views on my ramblings so feel free to drop me a tweet or a comment.

Paul
