First believe, then persevere

I had finished writing the post, but could not publish, and lost everything…

My soul really is crushed through this experience.
The hours spent writing and the pain of losing those hours of work can be enough to make you want to give up.

Nevertheless, like Ehud, I have finally reached the point where total obliteration and death are possible outcomes but inertia is not.

Therefore, I am back at the writing table.

In all honesty, like a basketball in the hand of Lebron James or a golf ball whipped by Tiger Woods, I am nothing special. I am just in the hands of an undefeated champion who likes to show up and show off and always brilliantly not only win the game but actually redefine the game.

First you have to believe, then you have to persevere.

Indeed, I can not start listing the name of all the people I know who had their lives turned around and redefined because of entering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Starting with my own name, the name of Jesus Christ is changing too many lives to start counting.

One of these many is: Mignon Francois.

This is for all of my friends and family who recently lost a job.

In fact, a few years ago my father lost his job. In reality, the brutality of the situation was so distressful that he stayed in his room for two entire days.
However, on the third day, he got up and left the room saying:

“If I stay in my room, beaten down… who is going to pray for my sons?”

My father’s experience reminds me of this father in the chapter 9 of the Good News according to Mark.

The father in the story had brought his son to be seen by the great healer of the body and the soul, Jesus Christ. The father starts by saying:

The demon has often tried to kill him by throwing him into a fire or into water. Please have pity and help us if you can!”
Jesus replied, “Why do you say ‘if you can’? Anything is possible for someone who has faith!”

Mark 9:22–23 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

Assuredly, your deliverance is coming but first you have to believe, and then you have to persevere.

Actually, not much to put your hope on? Well, there is a cure for that: leave your mental place of sorrow and like King David put your hope in the God who is never shaken and is ever strong in all our situations.

David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
