“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

I know it has been a while since the last update — we appreciate the patience! Really this post will mostly be about photos, but I will give you a quick update on how things are going.

Beau has been doing pretty well! Brianna has recently been trying to breast feed and feed him with a bottle. He continues to make improvements, but it’s still tough for him to understand what to do. When he was discharged from the hospital, we were supposed to have something set up with a feeding therapist, but they haven’t gotten back to us.

On Monday, we will have his second swallow study, where they will evaluate him swallowing via x-ray. The purpose of this is to see if he is aspirating. If you would, please be praying for this! If he is aspirating, the doctors will most likely be inclined to put a halt on giving him any milk orally, which in the long run could cause further struggles in learning how to swallow food.

The next pray request would be that his esophagus stays open. With babies like Beau, they struggle with having their esophagus stay open. We need to especially be praying for this because if it were to close up, he would have to go back into the hospital to have a dilation procedure (where surgeons go in and insert a balloon to reopen the esophagus).

This all depends on the child. Sometimes they need many dilations, but sometimes it can be very few. We’re praying that it continues to stay open and function as it’s supposed to.

Here are some photos from when he first got readmitted into the hospital for his surgery up until this point!
