How to measure your head for a wig installation
Step 1: Prepare your hair
Before measuring your head for a wig installation, make sure your hair is flat and smooth. You can either tie your hair back or wear a wig cap to help keep your hair in place.
Step 2: Measure your head circumference
Using a soft measuring tape, measure the circumference of your head. Start at the center of your forehead and wrap the tape around the back of your head, just above your ears. Bring the tape back to the front of your head and measure the circumference of your head at its widest point.
Step 3: Measure your head from front to nape
Next, measure your head from the front hairline to the nape of your neck. Place the measuring tape at the center of your forehead and bring it down to the nape of your neck, just above your hairline.
Step 4: Measure your head from ear to ear
Measure the distance between your ears by placing the measuring tape at the top of one ear and bringing it over your head to the top of the other ear. Make sure that the measuring tape is level with the ground for an accurate measurement.
Step 5: Measure your forehead to temple
Measure from the center of your forehead to the top of your ear where it meets your temple. This is where the front of the wig should sit on your head.
Step 6: Measure your nape to the top of your head
Measure from the nape of your neck to the top of your head where the wig will sit. This measurement will help ensure that the wig sits comfortably and securely on your head.
Step 7: Record your measurements
After taking all of these measurements, record them on a piece of paper or in a note on your phone. These measurements will be used to ensure that the wig fits properly on your head during the installation process.
