Orchestrating Europe

Beck et al. is active member of the consortium orchestrating the Cloud environment for more than 20 EU agencies.

In Summer 2016 the largest inter-institutional framework agreement in the cloud computing has been awarded by more than 20 EU institutions. The contract has been awarded to a consortium with the international system integrator CANCOM in the lead.

As a strategic partner of CANCOM in the Cloud Computing activities, Beck et al. is active member of this consortium and is in charge of the whole Cloud Brokerage since the beginning of 2017.

This service includes the management of the Cloud Brokerage platform, which orchestrates a dedicated On-Premise-Cloud, as well as Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Cloud services, public as well as private – independent from the vendor or the environment – can be provisioned on-demand and managed within the EU compliance rules. Automation and flexibility are key to the success of our teams spread throughout EU. Cost efficiency, data security and data protection are the main priorities in this environment.

The consumption of services by the single agencies is steadily growing.

Thanks to our good performance and continuous improvements, Beck et al. Services increased the number of services, which now include also a First Level Service Desk and the provision of a complex SharePoint environment as Managed Service.

Combining a good understanding of the requests and needs of the single agencies with our strong experience and knowhow in Cloud as well as in on-premise-environments, we are now involved in several consulting projects (e.g. for Disaster Recovery as a Service, Business Continuity, Migration concepts, hybrid data centres setup and operations).

Currently we are involved in two major migration projects in front of relocation of the offices being responsible for the IaaS and PaaS platforms.
