I’ve been wanting a new camera for a while, but I just don’t know which one is better for my YouTube channel. I am a Nikon girl, I’ve had Nikon cameras since I was 12 years old and exploring photography through Nikon lens, but there are other great quality cameras out there.

A lot of YouTubers use Canon cameras, whether it is Canon t4i series or Canon 70D, the expensive cameras. Since I can’t let go of Nikon, I’ve been looking at the Nikon D5500 as well.

Similarities and Differences

I have been looking at both and price wise the Canon t4i is cheaper than Nikon D5500. One of the main reasons why I want to get either of these cameras is because I need a camera with a flip screen and auto focus. My current camera Nikon D3100, is a simple DSLR and doesn’t have a flip screen or auto focus capabilities. So I am always unsure after I finish a video, how it turned out because of I cannot see myself or if the setup is correct.

Although, they both have flip screens and auto focus, Nikon D5500 has built-in WiFi, price ranges from $849–$1000, ISO of 100–25,600 range, and 1/4000 sec shutter speed. Whereas with the Canon t4i, a touch screen LCD display with 100–12800 ISO that allows for more shooting for photography, up to 5.0 fps of speed, and price ranges from $400–$800. If I get the Canon t4i, I would want to eventually upgrade to the latest Canon EOS rebel t series camera, but if I get the Nikon D5500 I would have the latest. Choosing a camera is hard, but I want the one that I can get the best quality and usage out of it.
