➡️ What is the Importance of SEO and how to improve SEO Score?
The transition to the digital age and the rise of a powerful search engine like Google has forced almost everyone to explore the role SEO (search engine optimization) plays in their business.
Today, the subject of SEO is still not well understood by many people and institutions. Especially when people do not have a technical background, when they hear the word SEO, they may think that the subject is quite complex and approach it with prejudice.
So in this article, I want to show you that SEO is not that complicated. If we understand exactly what SEO is, we can easily change our perspective on SEO.
Once we understand the subject, I will discuss a few SEO strategies that you can quickly implement for your business or brand. If all is well so far, let’s continue reading.
➡️ SEO — What is Search Engine Optimization?
SEO is one of the most important items in basic digital marketing skills.
If you organize your website as recommended by search engines, describe your business on your website in the best way, and if other sites support you in this regard, your rankings will increase in related search terms.
Thus, you do SEO in its simplest definition.
There are over 200 factors that affect your Google ranking. Don’t let that scare you, not all are of equal importance.
Promotion is nice, but if you want to experience an increase in traffic on your site as a result of SEO work, you need to be displayed on a least of the first Google page.
In fact, if you are not in the first 3 places on the 1st page, your click-through rates will be quite low, so you may not get useful traffic.
Since we will do SEO, that is search engine optimization.
Then we need to know the working logic of search engines. So let’s take a quick look at how search engines work.
➡️ How Search Engines Work: Crawling, Indexing and Ranking?
When you add new content to your websites, such as a new landing page or blog post, search engines first crawl that content.
We can think of it the other way around, search engines scan with the software we call bots or spiders within an algorithm.
Therefore, they can scan your pages at any time.
If you have a sitemap, you make it easy to create, sitemaps are simple pages designed to list your pages to search engines.
For example, you can view my sitemap at the link below.

➡️ How often do these bots crawl your content?
This depends on several factors. What matters most is how often you post content.
I think search engines calculate the “average new content publishing speed” for sites and visit your website based on the average of your site.
Scanning sites for search engines is a serious cost.
Try to keep this in mind, because if you help them save on cost, they will reward you.
What is meant by helping here is that your site has the technical infrastructure and content suitable for the recommendations of search engines.
Let’s take a very common example for your better understanding.
Sometimes you publish a page on your site and the page content has not changed but the page address does.
This means you have two different pages with the same content.
As such, search engines have to scan two different addresses, and at the end of the scan, they realize that these pages have the same content.
This situation is generally not limited to 1–2 pages and this can happen in dozens of pages.
When you consider that millions of websites on the Internet do this jointly, which is the case, this creates a serious cost item for search engines.
For this reason, search engines naturally reward sites that do not spend a lot of money on them, giving them a higher ranking.
Keeping your website clean and organized in favour of search engines is called technical search engine optimization.
This is a very underrated topic. Unfortunately, even many web developers are unaware of the issue.
In fact, even many of those who deal with digital marketing is quite unfamiliar with this subject.
If you’ve ever used one of the sophisticated SEO tools and audited a site, you’ll see that website health hovers around 50% on average.
In the site audits I have carried out, the rate of websites that have achieved 60% site health does not reach 10%.
I’m guessing you’re wondering how to do a Technical SEO audit of your site.
➡️ How to Add Your Web Site To Google Indexing?
After a search engine crawls (sees) your page or site, the next step is indexing.
You can submit an indexing request from Google Search Console, Google will run a few necessary tests and if you pass, your page will be placed in the priority indexing queue.
Even if you do not request indexing, search engines will add your page to their index after a certain period of time.
To see if your page is indexed, all you need to do is copy your URL and make a search query.

➡️ Arrangement
When a search engine finally ranks your page, it means that your content is placed somewhere in the search results based on the search engines’ algorithm.
Theoretically, search engine ranking happens the moment someone searches for a term.
But in practice, sequencing is like a never-ending process.
Because there are many variables that affect the ranking, and these variables are constantly changing.
To sum up, search engines are constantly running in the background to crawl all websites.
They rank higher for pages that meet the requirements, provided they provide the most accurate information for a search query.
It’s actually not that hard to understand, what do you think?
Now that we know how search engines work, we can take a look at what SEO is all about.
➡️ SEO and Website Traffic
First page results get around 75% of traffic for a given keyword and that can mean free and valuable traffic for your website. So what do I mean by traffic from a keyword?
Each keyword has a monthly search volume. This monthly search volume varies in different countries.
Generally, the shorter the keyword, the more general the term and the higher the monthly volume. Let’s explain this with an example.
Let’s take the keyword SEO and check the search volume in the UK. As can be seen, the search volume for the keyword “SEO” in the UK is 40,500 per month.
Let’s check out longer terms that contain the word SEO, such as SEO Services. Search volume dropped to 4.400/Month.
Another keyword is “what is SEO”, and the search volume is also 4.400. As you can see, the longer the keyword, the lower the search volume.
