Quality education, a supposed basic right, is rather a privilege. The absence of education creates a bridge between diverse groups of society and restricts creativity and development in an individual. We, at Becoming I Foundation-BIF aim to cover this bridge, provide an opportunity for everyone to gain knowledge and realize their full potential.

Becoming I Foundation-VIT is an NGO and a student chapter Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, with a sharp vision of creating an equal society. This can only be achieved if all its members have equal opportunities, which we strive to provide to those deprived of it. We believe that education is at the forefront of creating productive change and ensuring wellness for our society.

Most NGOs would seek to provide monetary relief for the people they tend to, however, we offer education as means to identify one’s strengths and succeed in life. Education is the most valuable asset that one can possess and use to pave their own way to a purposeful life. We seek to help youngsters become self-sufficient and remarkable in whatever they chose to do.

BIF is actively doing its part in bringing about a change to the world and to the lives of many helpless children who are meant to become the glorious and talented future of our nation. We reach out to children from vulnerable parts of our society, providing them with endless opportunities and possibilities to better themselves by means of quality education.

BIF has organized various events and sessions throughout its run, such as teaching in nearby cancer care centers, government and tribal schools consisting of 4 sessions every week, on-campus events for the school kids and their families — the most popular one being “Smile” and “Umang”, and providing our services and support, just to name a few.

We hope to not only influence the lives of the lesser privileged, but also encourage our fellow peers to realize that change starts with themselves.
