Testosterone Tangle and The Monthly Visitor — All on the Same Day!
Yesterday was a pretty rough one. When I tell the story to someone, it sounds quite funny…and is certainly good for a few laughs…but I nearly had a full meltdown. My video explains it, but I thought I’d also give you a brief intro.
😥 I wake up to cramps and (though I was hoping I would never have another…
That horrible monthly visitor that everyone hates — especially trans men. Ugh!
Later in the day, I decided to contact my doctor’s office to find out if my doctor sent in my next prescription, b/c I was almost out of T. The lady I spoke with stated that the prescription had been sent and should be ready for pickup.
I hung up the phone and immediately contacted the pharmacy and was greeted by a pharmacy tech that clearly didn’t care what I needed. After having to basically pull it out of her, she finally decided to tell me that it would be ready in a couple of hours. Yay me!
Within 15 minutes, I received a voicemail from my pharmacy, with the pharmacist stating that (due to state guidelines) they were unable to fill my prescription for this controlled substance until June 8th. Ahhhh…WHAT?!?!?
Cue the PANIC, ANGER, FRUSTRATION, FEAR, SADNESS, and even a bit of RAGE. Seriously — at one point, I came close to throwing my phone down on the concrete. All I could think was, “They expect me to go without my shots from now until June 8th?!?! What is that going to do to me physically, mentally, and emotionally??? This can’t be happening to me!” I NEED MY T!
I called my doctor’s office again — to plead my case, “Hey…I told you guys that I threw away the first vial after only using one dose. I need the doctor to call the pharmacy and talk to them.” Needless to say, I really wasn’t getting anywhere and seeing that I was literally about to have a breakdown, my wife (thankfully) took the phone.
Take a look at my video to hear more. What a day!!! Disclaimer: I recorded the video outside, where I felt like I was in the middle of a small hurricane. So…audio may not be so great at times.
Wish me luck, everyone! Gonna be a bumpy ride!
