In an increasingly technological world, knowledge is power. Knowledge is money. And the key to this money is data. Whether you’re a Fortune 500 company or a start-up company, you need data. Product pricing, product reviews, availability, and competitor information is just the beginning of what every company needs to be successful. To gather this data, many companies hire interns or use skilled labor to copy and paste data from URL’s to spreadsheets.

It’s slow.

It’s expensive.

And it’s inefficient. But that’s where Mozenda comes in.

For Brett Haskins, CEO and co-founder at Mozenda, it’s pretty simple. Mozenda is “simply the best in the world at web scraping.”

Mozenda is a web scraping software that utilizes a sophisticated browser approach to scrape websites for different kinds of data. Mozenda uses the same browser controls that popular browsers use to render websites within their software. Using a very simple point and click interface, users can then build agents within the software to automatically extract massive amounts of data instantaneously. This data is immediately displayed as a table, and can be easily integrated into most structured databases and visualization software such as Tableu, ClickView, or DOMO.

It really is that easy — a caveman really could do it. I decided to put this claim to the test, and try the free trial version. In less than ten minutes, I had created my own agent and was viewing the prices, product reviews, and availability for every kind of GoPro on Amazon — all in an easy-to-read table.

But Mozenda goes bigger. Way bigger.

Let’s use a Fortune 100 retailer as an example. This retailer claims to have the lowest prices on the market. Period. That’s a pretty big claim for a company that carries hundreds of thousands of SKUs. Mozenda helps make this bold claim a reality. Mozenda can be used to scrape every competitor’s website for every product and every price. This data can be collected and updated automatically on demand or on a schedule. Data collected can be integrated into the retailer’s database for instantaneous comparison. Algorithms and systems could be set up to automatically adjust prices based on the data received, ensuring they have the lowest prices everywhere.

The possibilities and uses are endless.

“If you’re a company that believes there is information on the web that will help you make decisions, be more efficient, understand patterns, and know how to compete, you should talk to Mozenda,” Haskins said.
