Your kids will love learning how to code while they play Minecraft at Tech Trep Academy’s Summer Minecraft Coding Camp for Kids.

After the camp, your kids will be able to:

  • Create immersive environments based on their own imaginations.
  • Design expansive digital landscapes through discovery and mods.
  • Create custom items such as armor, tools, and plants that can be used in their world.

By integrating learning how to code with playing their favorite game, your kids will be excited to learn and practice their new lifelong skill.

Registration ends May 23, 2016 and spots fill up quickly, so enroll your kids today.

Technology is transforming every industry, not just the tech industry. Yes, the world is full of Information Technology careers needing to be filled, but everyone from students and farmers to accountants and marketers can improve their work and increase their output when they know how to program.

When you know how to program, you can turn your computer into a productivity power tool. Yes, there are programs and apps already built for increasing productivity, but by learning how to think algorithmically, you’ll expand your brain and add to the ways you can solve a huge variety of problems.

During the time at camp, your kids will learn the following coding languages and concepts:

  • Eclipse: Used by many IT companies, this is an open-sourced platform that allows a software developer to create a customized development environment (IDE) from plug-in components.
  • Java: Used on many websites and applications, this is a popular programming language and computer platform.
  • Booleans: Often used in programming and internet search engines, this is used to create true/false statements using AND, OR, XOR, and NOT to compare values and return results.
  • If Statements: This is a programming conditional statement that, if proved true, performs a function or displays information.

By learning these four programming concepts and skills, your kids will begin to understand how computers and programs run, how websites are created, and how web searches return results.

Our curriculum, taught by an instructor and supported by mentors, will help kids learn how to use their resources in order to develop insightful and creative solutions to solve a variety of problems.

They’ll be thinking, collaborating, planning, and organizing along with developing a stronger memory and longer attention span. These life skills are crucial for a future in education and career placement.

The instructor guided, mentor supported camp classes will be held Monday June 13th — Friday June 17th from 3pm — 5pm at the Big Leap offices (a digital marketing agency) at 525 S 850 E #2 in Lehi, Utah.

Your child will need to bring with them a PC or Mac laptop along with their installed Minecraft software ($26.95).

The registration and payment ($99) deadline is May 23, 2016 but spots will fill up quickly so sign up your kids today.
