Flavia Tata Nardini is the co-founder and CEO of Fleet Space. She’s a rocket scientist, multiple patent holder and well on her way to wrap planet Earth in one hundred nano satellites.

In this episode of Beer with an Entrepreneur, Flavia talks about the multi-billion-dollar business opportunity that is the Internet of Things, her approach to learning, the worst piece of advice she most commonly hear — and what it means to have your work actually change a person’s life.

Fleet has, up until this point, raised $5m from Blackbird Ventures and Mike Cannon-Brooke’s investment fund, Grok Ventures.

The Adelaide-based space startup is aiming to connect 75 billion Internet of Things (IoT) devices and sensors expected to be online by 2025.

Fleet, founded in 2015 by Flavia, Dr Matthew Tetlow and serial entrepreneur Matt Pearson, is planning to launch the first of (more than) 100 planned satellites into space next year. Aiming to establish free global connectivity for IoT devices through nano-satellite technology.
