remember one night sitting alone, feeling like I was about to lose everything completely. My heart felt heavy and my mind raced. I was stressed out because I didn’t know what to do next. I was tired of being failed relationships three times over. I was drinking way too much and doing drugs every weekend. I was depressed and angry. I wanted to change everything about myself, but I didn’t really know how.

I had no idea that the answer was right in front of me. It was a simple concept. The only thing standing between me and success was me. And I needed to stop blaming everyone else for my problems and start taking responsibility for my life.

So I started reading books on self-improvement, personal growth, and personality development. I read all the best authors Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, James clear Les Brown, Zig Ziglar, Wayne Dyer, Jack Canfield, Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, Michael Gerber, Robert Kiyosaki, etc. I also listened to audiobooks from these authors.

And it worked! It changed my life.

Now I want to share with you some of the most powerful personal growth secret strategies I learned along the way. These are the secrets that accelerate my personal growth. They will help you achieve more than you ever thought possible.

You can use them to improve any area of your life. You can even apply them to your business or career.

What is personal growth?

Personal growth means growing as an individual. It means improving yourself mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and socially. Personal growth is not just about changing your personality. It’s about becoming a better version of yourself.

It’s about learning new things, developing new skills, and achieving goals.

In other words, it’s about living a fulfilling life.

Now let’s discuss a few secrets to help you accelerate your personal growth…

1. Get rid of negative thoughts and emotions so they don’t sabotage you again

Self-Sabotage is when people consistently do things that prevent them from achieving their goals. They may be conscious or unconscious of these sabotages. They can impact their own personal or professional successes, and also contribute to their mental health.

Here are a few tips to stop self-sabotage

  • Become aware of your thoughts and feelings (Self-awareness): What are you thinking and feeling right now? Ask yourself if this thought/feeling is helpful or harmful. If not, ask why.
  • Make a list of the benefits of changing your current behavior.
  • Use affirmations to replace negative beliefs with positive ones. For example, “I am worthy” instead of “I’m nothing.”
  • Notice if there are patterns in your behavior (procrastinating, Negative self-talk, lowering your self-esteem, etc )
  • Ask yourself why you behave this way
  • Learn to identify your triggers: What makes you feel bad? What makes you feel good?
  • Practice mindfulness: Focus on your breathing, notice your body sensations, and focus on the present moment.

2. Build confidence so you can go after what you want in life

Confidence is an important part of success. Without it, you won’t have the courage to take action. But having confidence doesn’t mean you’re cocky or arrogant. Confident people are humble enough to admit when they need help. They believe in themselves and trust their abilities.

Here are a couple of ways to boost your confidence

  • Be honest with yourself: Are you confident or just pretending to be honest?
  • Learn and execute: Confidence often comes from what you have learned and executed in real life. In theories, things are unclear.
  • Get feedback: Ask someone who knows you well for advice. Or talk to a friend who has been through similar experiences.
  • Build your skills: Do something new every day. Read a book, learn a language, write a blog, etc.
  • Surround yourself with successful people: Find mentors and role models.
  • Believe in yourself: Have faith in your ability to accomplish goals.
  • Set realistic expectations: High Expectations may lead to disappointment.
  • Focus on the positive: Look at the bright side of life.
  • Be patient: Success takes time

I recommend you read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill to build confidence

3. Find peace within yourself when things around you aren’t peaceful

Peace is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. When you experience peace, you become happier, healthier, calmer, and more productive.

But how do you find peace inside yourself? Here are a few tips

  1. Exercise: Physical activity releases endorphins which make us happy.
  2. Acceptance: Understand that everything happens for a reason. There is no point in trying to change things. Just accept them as they are.
  3. Compassion: Try to understand others’ perspectives. It will make you less judgmental.
  4. Meditation: Take time out each day to practice meditation. This helps you calm down and relax.

4. Become an expert at anything you put your mind to

You don’t have to be born with a talent to succeed. You just have to work hard and dedicate yourself to learning. The key is to keep practicing until you get better.

There are two types of experts: those who know a lot about a subject and those who know how to apply knowledge effectively. Experts know a lot but they also know how to use their knowledge. They are able to quickly grasp concepts and apply them to solve problems.

How do you become an expert?

  • Know your strengths and weaknesses: Figure out where you excel and where you struggle. Then figure out how to improve your weak areas.
  • Read more than once: Reading books repeatedly gives you insights into different aspects of a topic and makes things quite easy to understand.
  • Study smarter: Don’t cram all information into your head at once. Instead, break up your study sessions by taking short breaks between chapters.
  • Keep track of your progress: Write down notes about what you’ve read and what you’ve learned.
  • Master the basics: Start by mastering the fundamentals. Once you master these, move on to the next level.
  • Keep learning: Don’t stop learning even when you think you’ve mastered your field.

5. Form a good habit

Habits are powerful tools that help you achieve any goals. You tend to repeat behaviors because it’s easier than thinking about what you want to accomplish. But if you form habits, it becomes much easy to follow your dream in a more consistent and productive manner.

Here are some strategies to create good habits

  • Be specific: Make sure your goal is very specific. If you say “I want to lose weight” then you’ll probably fail. Instead, say “I’m going to quit junk food today to lose weight.”
  • Associate actions to your existing habits: For example, if you want to lose weight then you can say like, “I’ll go for walk after having dinner”. It will improve your digestion and burn all extra fat rather than storing it.
  • Set small goals: Break big goals down into smaller steps. For example, instead of saying “I want to start exercising every day,” try saying “Today I’m going to walk 10 minutes.”
  • Reward yourself: Give yourself rewards after accomplishing a task. A reward doesn’t have to be materialistic; it could be something like listening to music or watching a movie.
  • Make it easy: Make sure there are no obstacles preventing you from doing what you want to do.
  • Think positive: Focus on the benefits of the action rather than the negative consequences.

If you really want to learn the art of How to form a good habit and how to break a bad habit, you must read Atomic habit. This is so powerful. I’m so lucky that I’ve read it.

6. Create wealth through passive income streams

Finance freedom plays an important role in accelerating your Personal Growth. Because a poor financial state makes you inferior and constrained toward your goals.

So, it’s essential to build wealth so that you can achieve financial independence. And there are many ways to create wealth. One way is to start investing early. Another way is to invest in assets such as stocks, online businesses, side hustles, investments, and rental properties.

A few tips to create financial freedom

  • Start investing early: If you want a secure future, you must start investing now. “If you’re starting at 40 years old, you’ll need to have saved up $1,300 per month to reach $1 million by 65 years old.” If you start investing when you’re 20 years old, you could invest less than $300 per months and accumulate $1 million by 65.” (From Google)
  • Start investing: Start small by putting away 10% of your paychecks. As you grow financially, increase your investment amount.
  • Build multiple streams of income: Having multiple sources of income increases your stability. So, if you lose your job, you won’t starve.
  • Invest in real estate: Real estate has been proven to be one of the best forms of investment. It provides passive income and capital appreciation.

I recommend you read Rich Dad Poor Dad to learn how to achieve financial freedom.

7. Overcome procrastination and take action now

“Procrastination is the enemy of personal growth which is directly associated with your success”

It’s a major obstacle to success. If you want to achieve something, you must start doing it right away. Procrastinating only makes you feel worse because you’re putting off the thing you really wanted to do.

Here are some ways to overcome procrastination

  • Make a plan: Set goals and create a step-by-step plan to achieve them.
  • Write on paper: Writing down your plans helps you stay focused. It also helps you avoid distractions and prioritize your actions.
  • Be accountable: Ask someone to hold you accountable. For example, ask a friend or family member to call you every week to check on your progress.
  • Be realistic: Don’t set unrealistic deadlines or expect too much from yourself.
  • Get started: Put off tasks that require little effort. Tackle big projects first.
  • Set deadlines: Give yourself a deadline so that you won’t procrastinate.
  • Reward yourself: Treating yourself well motivates you to complete tasks.
  • Visualize your goals: Seeing your goal clearly in your mind’s eye helps motivate you to act.

To overcome procrastination, you can read Eat That Frog. It’s a great book by Brian Tracy where he shares 21 powerful ways to stop procrastinating and get more done in less time. It’s a 2-hour book that you can read in just 2 days.
