Earlier this week, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for this year’s round of Webby Awards. Celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, The Webby Awards “is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.” This year, Behance is excited to announce that we’ve been nominated for three Webby People’s Voice Awards: Community Website , Web Service and Application, and Social for Mobile Sites and Apps.

While we’ve been nominated and won in the past, what makes this round of nominations even more special is that it highlights three aspects that we’re focused on for the future.

Earlier this year, we launched Adobe Portfolio, a companion to Behance that allows Adobe Creative Cloud members to design and publish a portfolio website in minutes. Our team had been working on Portfolio in some capacity for almost 18 months and like any launch, releasing it into the wild was nerve-wracking: how would the community respond, what would they create? In the months since, we’ve been proud of the overwhelmingly positive as our members continue building beautiful portfolio websites.

In summer 2014, we officially launched our first Android app after tons of testing, development, and more testing. After years of being iOS-only, the Android app became (unsurprisingly) one of our most downloaded apps. Now as more of Adobe’s apps are becoming more cross platform, we‘re expanding into new ecosystems like tvOS and even creating new gestures.

At the heart of Behance, of course, is our community; the creative work they upload each day makes Behance the vibrant and inspiring platform it’s come to be. Everyday, our millions of members share amazing work with the world and we’re lucky enough to be able to help foster the careers of some incredibly talented humans. Our team gets countless emails from members who have been featured on Behance and had amazing things happen. On top of that, we have hundreds of volunteers every year organize in-person portfolio reviews that connect creative communities around the world. If that doesn’t represent an amazing online community, what does?

So, this year it’s not so much about winning another spring-shaped trophy. We’re really proud to be recognized for the amazing work our team and community puts in, day in and day out, and hope you’ll take the time to vote for us this year.

Here’s to making ideas happen!
