Archant launches hunt for live news editor in East Anglia
A new position of LIVE news editor has been created to run a team of journalists across Norfolk and Suffolk.
The role, the latest in a series of new posts created by Archant recently, will drive the rapidly expanding websites across the four daily titles and nine weekly digital platforms in East Anglia.
Last week, Natalie Sadler and Richard Porritt took the reins of the Ipswich Star and Norwich Evening News as Editors appointed by Chief Content Officer Jeremy Clifford.
The Live team will be responsible for providing the best breaking news service in the two counties.
Head of Audience for Archant, Emily Hewett, said: “Our first ever Live Editor will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of Live Reporters from our Norwich office, tasked with responding fast to breaking news and writing high-performing, optimised content.
“You will have an in-depth understanding of analytics and audience data and will be confident in organising the team efficiently to maximise reach.
“The new Live team will take your lead in working to a data-driven content plan which covers everything from the latest traffic and travel updates to food and drink and property content.
“You can expect a fast-paced environment where no day is the same. The Live Team’s output is heavily influenced by the news agenda, and a flexible approach will be paramount as priorities can quickly change. “
Jeremy Clifford said: “This appointment is part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a quality news service across all of our platforms. This role will deliver audience at scale, creating time in our newsrooms for other reporters to focus on creating uniquely relevant local content for their audiences.”
