New arrivals and new roles as the Edinburgh Evening News and Scotsman
A series of new appointments have been made by Johnston Press at the Edinburgh Evening News and Scotsman newsroom.
Stephen Emerson has been appointed to the newly created role of Commercial Editor for Scotland.
Having overseen dramatic increases in traffic to the Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News sites in his previous role as Head of Digital, Stephen was selected for the post ahead of significant competition from external candidates.
Iain Pope joins as News Editor for the Edinburgh Evening News.
A former senior digital editor at the Daily Record and STV News, Iain brings a wealth of experience across print and digital from a 20-year career in Scotland’s regional and national media.
Former Edinburgh Evening News News Editor Claire McKim is moving to an Assistant News Editor post where she will work primarily for the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday.
Claire brings extensive print and digital experience to the role having also previously worked as a Scotsman.com channel editor.
Rohese Devereux-Taylor has been appointed a Multi-media Reporter based in Edinburgh.
She previously worked as a digital reporter for the Daily Record and STV News.
Hannah Burley joins as Business Reporter on the Scotsman. A fluent speaker of Spanish and German, she has been working as a freelance journalist.
