Newsletters created by regional journalists have been shortlisted for the annual Publisher Newsletter Awards.

Three regional journalists — Debra Fox from National World, WalesOnline’s Will Hayward and Hannah Jones from Reach’s InYourArea — are on the shortlist for publisher newsletter hero of the year, which celebrates people shaping newsletter strategy and inspiring others to do the same.

InYourArea is shortlisted in the best local and community newsletter section too, along with The Brighton Argus Subscriber Exclusive from Newsquest, while hyperlocal publisher Social Spider has two shortlisted entries — the Weekly Dispatch for Enfield and This Week in Waltham Forest.

Also shortlisted is Untold Stories from Reach’s journalists in the South East, and Your Community Matters from Baylis Community Media, publisher of the Maidenhead Advertiser.

In the best daily newsletter category, The Northern Agenda — a politics newsletter spanning the north of England from Reach — and the Evening Standard’s West End Final newsletter are both shortlisted.

Brummie Mummies, from BirminghamLive, is shortlisted in the best health and lifestyle newsletter.

Reach’s BusinessLive North West newsletter flies the flag for local journalism in the best B2B newsletter category, while NationalWorld.com’s Editor’s newsletter is in the best news and analysis category.

WalesOnline Wales Editor Will is shortlisted in the politics newsletter category, along with The Steamie covering Scottish politics from The Scotsman, and The Northern Agenda.

Newsquest’s Kings of Anglia newsletter, Reach’s The Valiant covering Port Vale and Inside Welsh Rugby from WalesOnline. The Valiant is also shortlisted in newsletter launch of the year.

The winners will be announced at an awards event on July 23 in London.
