Website’s audience rockets eight fold as readers flock for General Election news
As Sir Keir Starmer led the Labour Party to power in a landslide General Election victory, newsrooms at Tindle Newspapers ensured readers stayed up to date with all the drama.
The Conservative Party suffered an electoral collapse after 14 years in power, losing 250 seats over the course of a devastating night.
To meet the demand from audiences, readers across Tindle’s digital platforms were given information affecting their communities from their local, trusted news provider.
The live blog which ran across all our Cornwall titles, including the Times, Post and Voice news brands, was the most-clicked article across the whole of Tindle on Friday.
In Totnes, where the town returned a Liberal Democrat MP for the first time in history, the Totnes Times website saw eight times more page views than average.
In Wales, where the Conservatives were wiped off the political map, titles including Cambrian News, Tenby Observer, Brecon and Radnor Express, Abergavenny Chronicle and Monmouthshire Beacon came together for a nationwide live blog.
Editorial ran live blogs in all markets while journalists were up all night to report the results, the reaction and the colour of a moment in history.
