Finding The Perfect Balance
We may not need a niche, but we still need an audience
Writing is pouring breath into a piece of porous paper. The nib of my fountain pen etches into the epithelium of soft white fabric as I unravel my inner thoughts.
Tales of adventures, enormous beasts, haunted forests and hidden graveyards. Morally grey characters and dubious maidens with fake grins hidden behind intricate fans.
…Tapestries of life…
But some days I sit down and even though my heart is beating, it’s not there. No soul. My brain rules the control tower as words pour and odd diagrams find themselves staring at me from the other side of the screen.
Damn, — I think to myself. I try again. And again. Stubborn as I am, I can’t let it go!
There are days when we bleed on paper — and there are days when we don’t. There are also days when our mundane realities take over. It’s frustrating, but it’s fine.
Perhaps, we can make this — whatever this is — work?
