My Thoughts on Syria, China, Russia and Korea
TBH I really haven’t written in a few days. I’ve been processing, I guess. It’s hard living so far away from my home in the U.S. I listen to many news commentators and wonder now (#FAKENEWS). What is the impact of a President who literally gives his staff Whiplash due to his erratic decision making and reversals on a daily basis. One who speaks often without any foundation about issues he speaks on. Who subjects us all to daily doses of his assumption of credit for various American progresses (even when he had nothing to do with them) and negative streams of tweets when he is raging about a perceived attack on his person or life.
Mr. Comey’s new book is also enlightening, perhaps more so than the Fire and Fury book. Now people are wondering how does it reflect on Mr. Comey as a cool headed former head of the FBI? For real?! What does it matter? It is telling that he says that while the President may be fit in many ways, he is not morally fit to be in the office he holds. Of course, this has led to a slew of tweets from Donald Trump. I won’t expand on my feeling on this, it is just too disgusting.
Then we have the legal search and seizure from his personal lawyer’s home and office followed by the twitter storm on the same. The suggestion that this was a “raid”, ludicrous. That in someway, Client — Attorney Privilege impeded; equally so. Now a federal court is making everyone wait while it determines who gets to see everything first. Oh Lord!
So, yes…..processing.
That brings us to Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook. While I am sure as a business model, Facebook is rife with proverbial worms. Mark is right when he refers to the fact that it was never expected that Facebook, that had it’s beginning in a college dorm room, would mushroom into the behemoth that it has. That the security, privacy and other problems it has faced are being handled as best as he team can. I found some of the questions the panel of congressmen and senators asked mind boggling. I mean really! To expect the top executive of a massive tech firm to know specific details is out right ludicrous. However, personally I have begun detaching myself from Facebook. I even looked at other option and right now I’m working on a we’ll see mode of operation.
This week’s airstrikes in Syria has set another series of stomach lurches and panic tremors throughout my entire being. Firstly, my nephew is serving in the USMC “semper fi” is over in the “hot” zone right now. We’d like to get him back the same way he went, thank you. Secondly, I have been watching over the last few months the actions of our illustrious President (cough, cough) and it just seems to me he is working toward American involvement in a war. He trying to create conditions for this war to happen. That truly scare me to death. He began with the argument with Korea, then the sanctions with China and now on to Syria and Russia.
I am not naive enough to believe it hasn’t happened before, I know it has. I know that America does things internationally to create situations for their benefit in many countries. Still to create a scenario that would put our country at war anywhere is a very scary thought. I truly hope it doesn’t happen, but I have been worried for some time about this.
As anyone who has been on my Twitter stream knows, I am not a fan of the President #NOTMYPRESIDENT #DUMPTRUMP are frequently featured in my tweets. I don’t intend to offend anyone else’s personal feeling about him, but I truly hope he is eventually put down.
