Why We Do Not Need to Argue About Everything
But why do some people argue about every single point, every single subject. It seems as if their entire self worth hinges on winning a debate. Is it truly about ideas, or is there something deeper like inner fear, or emptiness that we are trying to bury or hide under loud debates, heated discussions, and endless words? Here in this story, I wrote during my years long transition from the compulsion to argue to an acceptance that no longer hinges on proving I am right or even winning a debate. It is my hope that we might all find a quieter, calmer, and more secure path in all our interactions.
