It’s true that writing is a medium of transmitting information from one person to another.

But it’s way beyond that.

Have you ever wondered why people are more likely interested in reading your personal stories or experiences than just writing about anything without a take-home?

People are curious about how certain things happen to you and how you’re able to overcome them or about what you’ve learned from a new encounter, moment, or event.

Your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and opinions are just so important to people—this is why they care.

I mean… we care!

Therefore, writing isn’t just an art, but also a form of self-expression.

Writing as a vulnerable process gives you the courage to show up authentically, to be seen and heard as your true identity, even when faced with backlashes, setbacks, disappointments, uncertainty, and discomfort.

In a nutshell, writing often feels personal and vulnerable because it inculcates sharing your thoughts, feelings, and personal experiences with your audience.

Writing Has a Personal Nature

We all can agree on this.

Writing is also regarded as personal because it serves a means for one to express his/herself.

As writers, writing reflects our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Which is what makes your content fascinating to read.

We’re easily drawn to stories with a touch of personal anecdote and how those anecdotes make you feel.

Additionally, writing is also an identity because it reveals the connection between your voice and identity. Writing can push you to reveal the aspects you don’t know exists be because of the act of meditation involved in ideation.

In meditation, you drive deep into your subconscious mind and pull out some mind blowing thoughts or ideas, leading to a higher degree of self-awareness and mindfulness.
