Squats hold a special place in my fitness routine.

They help me in several areas, including the following:

  • muscle building
  • boosting my running speed
  • improving my jump

Squats are hard, but they are so good for muscle development.

Yet many gym goers never head to the squat rack.

When they do, they often do so with poor form.

As I train for a bodybuilding competition in the Seattle area in May 2025 (I’m in the over-60 division), I know I must embrace the squat to look my best.

But I also want to explore how you can incorporate bodyweight exercises into your routine, even if you are not a gym rat.
