Eating many ultra-processed foods (UPFs) — such as soda, processed meats, and packaged snacks — can accelerate one’s age.

This acceleration isn’t just because these foods are low in nutrition.

Other factors might be involved, too.

We already know that eating lots of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) might be linked to some signs of aging, like memory problems and weaker bodies.

Researchers have yet to explore the relationship between biological aging and ultra-processed foods.

A New Study

Researchers wanted to see how eating ultra-processed foods (UPFs) affects aging.

They studied over 22,000 people in Italy, with an average age of 55.
