MY PATIENTS FREQUENTLY ASK, “If I get less than the recommended seven or eight hours of sleep every night, will a midday nap make up for that loss?” If not too long, your nap may replenish your energy for the day. But a nap does not fully compensate for the negative health consequences of a bad night of sleep.
