High blood pressure complications do not just happen in Hollywood. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are one of the leading causes of maternal deaths worldwide.

Preeclampsia and eclampsia are part of the spectrum of high blood pressure pregnancy complications affecting 2–8% of pregnancies around the world.

A pregnant woman with puffy swollen feet may be common, but this subtle sign can sometimes be the first warning of a much more severe complication.
