Today marks the anniversary of her death, but her legacy lives on.

It is only recently and through the friendship with her daughter Kari Ainsworth that I stumbled upon Truddi Chase’s story. Kari, who I am so proud of and utterly grateful for, is doing the brave work of keeping her mother’s legacy alive.

Her mother’s best-seller story, When Rabbits Howl, 1987, was groundbreaking. At that time, sexual abuse, trauma, and mental health disorders were still taboo topics. Truddi’s story broke barriers and helped many abuse survivors get the help they needed.

She was a feature on Oprah in 1990, and the interview is just as riveting now as it was thirty years ago.

Today, Kari is continuing with her mother’s heroic work. Her mother died before she could publish The Creature of Habit, a Journey. Kari was able to complete her work and published her mother’s beautifully illustrated book by the author.

Kari is also launching a limited-edition companion journal for this book. Please consider visiting her website: TruddiChase.com or following her page on Facebook for more information.

Kari, I wish you much love and gratitude as you continue with your mother’s important work. May her voice continue to help those who need it most.
