Last Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm EST, BeLive.tv celebrated the World Social Media Day 2018 together with the show hosts Molly Mahoney and Mari Smith with Ross Brand as the main host of the show.

Seven countries from around the world participated and joined as representatives during the World Social Media Day 2018. The countries that joined were U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Nigeria, and South Africa. It was like an Olympics in live streaming. :)

The representatives talked about how live streaming has opened doors for them, improved their businesses, changed lives and reached more people.

United States

Fr. Wade Fahnestock is a live streamer in the U.S. Live streaming has allowed him to reach an international audience through his broadcast about morning prayers. He was fascinated with the ability to reach people any time of the day around the world.

K.M. Robinson is a social media strategist, author, and photographer who mainly uses live streaming and chatbots for her business. Live streaming has allowed her to give out her books and connect with her live stream community.

Raven Blair Glover shared the importance of monetizing live streams. She also shared how baby boomers like her and the older generation are stepping out there to do their thing. Live streaming allows those who wouldn’t get hired in any other way to create jobs and opportunities for them. They can embrace technology even if some of them are doing it for the first time.

Joie Gharrity used to work in the Hollywood and entertainment industry for around 15 years. She is now a live streamer who hosts the show, Hollywood Spotlight Series where she shares her expertise in gaining more visibility and influence Hollywood style. She also loves the convenience that live streaming brings where people don’t need to show up in a studio again.

United Kingdom

Our very own moderator Steven Healey has been with BeLive since the beginning. He manages the Live Video Hub of BeLive, and he is also part of the Top 10 European hosts.

Fonz Chamberlain has a background in radio and shares about social and local history through the Cambridge Historian show. Live streaming has allowed him to share so much information and develop a bigger following.

Canada

Doyle Buehler live streams from Canada and celebrates the goodness of social media where it helps connect and create a community around the world.

Jay Lane uses live streaming for training purposes. She shared how effective and important live streaming is to one’s business and how it builds trust with your audience.

David Burrows shared how communities connect with other communities from around the world. He discovered BeLive through a random search on Google and learned that through live streaming we could change the world in a positive direction. He encourages people to just go live and stop thinking too much about how we look like in front of the camera.

Australia

Adaire Palmer works with women in business. Live streaming has allowed her to engage with her audience, and she has learned that the biggest things are the stories we tell about ourselves.

Barbara Swiatkiwsky supports women with personal services and home business to grow a tribe of potential loyal clients. On the broadcast, she excitingly explained to us the potential that live streaming brings and how a community is created through the interviews and experiences shared. The two-way conversation and the comments build interaction with other people in a real way even if your watching live or on the replay.

Ireland

Lottie Hearn helps women who work from home. She is also in the speaking industry and admires how Facebook live can help women establish their businesses.

Nigeria

Dr. Olubusola Olufemi is an expert in health and wellness, relationships, and intimate issues. What she loves about live streaming is how she can help more people just like when she was able to help someone who was experiencing depression. It amazed her how people found her and reached out for help. With live streaming, she feels like her services in helping people is not limited.

South Africa

Bridgetti Lim Banda live streams about water and electricity crisis. Bridgetti has been a long time BeLiver, and she explained how live streaming helped create awareness. She had no idea about water and electricity crisis initially, so she interviewed people in that industry.

Social media simply builds connections that last. Celebrating it every year through the Social Media Day reminds us not just how everything started but how everything and everyone continues to grow.
