Recreating the biggest catwalk trends of 2017 in one look
The catwalk trends of 2017 have been some of the most stunning looks up to date. This has ranged from ‘No-Makeup’ perfect skin looks, faded lip colours, bold cheeks and bushy brows to sparkled up lower lash lines and bold orange eyeshadow.
All in all, these edgy yet wearable looks have been recreated with such a burst of enthusiasm by millions, more so than ever before.
Therefore, our very talented and creative Senior Belle Artist: Kailash, prepared a look for you incorporating current trends, that would look great on anybody. These involve: dewy, glowing skin, glossy eyelids and two-toned lips. Kailash demonstrates this look on our gorgeous model, Maria.
Together with Kailash, Maria and the videographer, Dan, we created an informative video of a step by step tutorial on the Trend Look. We have listed the exact products for you to use and we hope you love this look as much as we do.
Kailash starts by using La Mer’s Moisturising Gel Cream in order to prep the skin properly before makeup application.
The foundation Kailash had chosen is the Laura Mercier Candle Glow Foundation which will add on to the gorgeous dewy finish.
The Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer is used to hide any imperfections in the skin. This concealer in its thick consistency will literally hide anything, leaving your skin looking perfect. However, the under eye area requires a more hydrating formula, the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is used for this purpose.
NARS Copacabana is perfect to use for an extra glow in the skin and get the true strobing effect. It is an absolutely stunning highlight that looks like a wet glow on the skin. It is helpful to apply the product with a brush and blend it by dabbing it into the skin using your fingers. Make sure to apply it on all the high points of the face which includes, the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupids bow.
When strobing the skin there Is always a risk of looking a little shiny and sweaty. Therefore it is always helpful to use a powder puff and dabb a mattifying powder lightly onto areas which look a little too shiny. In this case we have used the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This will simply enhance the dewy look in the right areas of the skin. The aim is to mattify the T-zone and around the mouth.
Kailash adds colour to the cheeks using Charlotte Tilbury Love Glow Blusher on the apples of the cheek and further applies the beautifully iridescent OMG Beyond highlighter by Illamasqua to further enhance the glow on the high points of the face.
For brows, the Laura Mercier Brow Pencil has been used in the shade blonde. The aim here is to give more definition whilst still looking natural.
On the eyes Kailash uses the Sophisticate Palette by Charlotte Tilbury.
She starts by applying the warm ‘taupey’ shade using circular motions into the crease area and the lower lash line, making sure we blend everything out seamlessly so there are no harsh lines.
To add definition, Kailash has used Charlotte Tillbury’s Colour Chameleon in ‘Dark Pearl’ on the upper and lower lash line.
A cream coloured eye kohl is brilliant to give a brightened, wide eyed effect
We apply Mac Feline Kohl Pencil on the upper waterline just to darken the upper lashes, followed by the Tom Ford Extreme Mascara.
For the star of the show, use a flat synthetic brush and apply Dior Lip Gloss all over the lid space to give that cat-walk inspired wet look.
The lips have been inspired by the two-toned look we saw all over the cat walk this season. Kailash has chosen to apply a strong matte, red (Hot Lips Tell Laura by Charlotte Tilbury) on the upper lip followed by a glossy vibrant fuchsia on the lower lip (YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in Fuschia Pink).
