We can’t all be (or want to be) Kardashians, but we can connect with our “Moms” like one this mother’s day.

If your mum, grandma, step mum, aunty, uncle, sister or anyone else that’s been a mother figure in your life is anything like mine, they’re gonna wanna see those rosy cheeks this Sunday 😊

If you can’t be there in person, try one of these:

1. Our kitchens may not look like Kris’ or Mary Jo’s, but I definitely have space in mine for a Facebook Portal to chat with my family (or my dog while I’m at work). Google just announced something similar called the Google Nest Hub Max, dropping in July. Cool.

Video description: Instagram video from @krisjenner - Kris Jenner is cooking in the kitchen. She talks to her mother MJ via a video call on a Facebook Portal tablet that sits on the counter. Kris: “Mum did you realise that this is your 63rd mother’s day — do you know what that means?” MJ: “That you’re old?” Kris: “Haha, no, it means I’ve given you 62 mother’s day gifts.” MJ: “And I’ve loved every one of them. Especially that little clay pot thing you made.” Kris: “Well wait till you see what I made you this year… a little bling bling.” Kris holds up a large card that says, ‘I love mom.’ MJ: “It looks like something the grandkids would make.” Kris: “What? Speaking of the grandkids, let’s give them a call.” MJ: “I would love that.” Kris: “I love you.”

2. I always forget iMessage Digital Touch is a thing, but it’s actually a pretty fancy way of keeping in touch on the go. If you’re both flexing blue iPhone texts then try it out!

3. Anyone else pretty much using Facebook Messenger for all of your messaging now? Same. Anyway, it’s an easy way to video-call, play games and spiral into fits of laughter with all the wild filters.

4. Give them a buzz with unlimited calls within Australia and to selected countries overseas on Belong’s mobile plans.

5. When all else fails, old faithful Skype or Whatsapp are always there as a good backup.

Sure, video calls can chew up a bit of data but Belong has just doubled their data allowances on their regular and large mobile plans for both new and existing customers. You can also bank up your data and change plans whenever you like!

We send good vibes to anyone struggling on Mother’s Day (or any day). If you need someone to chat to or you’re struggling with loss please reach out to any of these organisations:
