You can now live stream and screencast in your personal 3D virtual reality space on Beloola
It’s been a couple of months now that users have been able to live stream from their PC or mobile phone cam to their personal 3D space on Beloola.com. They can now screencast with almost the same straightforward process. Twitchers and Youtubers will love that new feature!
DISCLAIMER: I’m screencasting with a crappy .gif editor, I apologize for the bad quality. Main thing is that it’s functional.
How to live stream from your PC or mobile phone camera inside your 3D space
STEP 1: First thing you need to do is go to the builder interface and add a screen to the 3D scene — the one you prefer, we have a YUGE range of different screens. To select a screen, click on the 3D objects icon, then select the “Media” category in the drop down menu. You can also type “screen” in the search box above. Once you’ve selected the screen, place it on the scene and resize it if needed.
STEP 2: Select your screen and click on the bolt icon to edit its settings and click on the “webcam” icon to the right. Uncheck “audio” if you don’t want to broadcast any sound, “video” if… you got it ;) And “autoplay” if you don’t want to activate the broadcast automatically when you’re in your 3D space.
STEP 3: Go to your 3D space. Your browser will ask you to allow access to your camera or microphone or both regarding the settings of your screen. Allow access. Congratulations, it works!
WARNING: if it doesn’t work, you might want to check the privacy settings of your browser and make sure that access to your camera and microphone is enabled. Here’s how it works on Google Chrome.
It also works from your mobile phone (see below, broadcasting from my Samsung Galaxy S6). Who’s Periscope again? ;)

How to screencast inside your 3D space
First thing you need to do is to install a virtual webcam and microphone eventually according to your OS. I will be giving a few examples below.
Windows
I suggest you use that thing called Screen Capture Recorder because it’s easy to use and FREE. It also includes a directshow source capture filter device for recording “what you hear and it works with any sound card. ”You can download it from here (go for the latest version). Simply run the installer and follow the instructions :)
By default, it captures the “full screen” of the main desktop monitor. If you consider yourself as an advanced user, you can edit the settings by following the instructions available here. Don’t forget to turn Stereomix on if you want to broadcast both microphone and sound from your sound card simultaneously!
Mac OS
Go for CamTwist. It’s also free and easy to use. Download it from here and run the installer.
You’ll also need to download another software to capture sound. Loopback works pretty well and the good thing is that you can choose the apps you want to capture sound from instead of recording all sounds from your sound card.
Linux
Go for Webcam Studio. It’s a little bit more tricky to deal with, but I guess Linux users are already used to tricky stuff.
Once your screencasting software is installed, how to make it work inside your 3D space
Follow the instructions detailed earlier for the live webcam process. Once you’re in your 3D space, look for the webcam icon in the address bar of your browser and select Screen Capture Recorder (Windows) / CamTwist (Mac) / Webcam Studio (Linux) instead of your webcam.
Refresh your page. It works!
You’re now ready to make that kind of “Twitch 3D/VR” happen in your web browser and make all your friends and fans enjoy this awesome experience. Go stream your LOL sessions, Xfinity sports stuff — watch out for piracy rules! — or any other thing you want to screen cast inside your 3D space.
Nb: according to the game you want to stream, you might need to check the settings and disable full-screen exclusive mode otherwise you’ll get a black screen only.
