As a holistic nutritionist in the wellness field, one of the subjects that I like to explore with my clients is the kind of relationships they have in their lives.

Health is not only the kind of food you eat but also the kind of relationships you allow and whether they boost or drain your energy currency.

Which is why I recommend my clients doing an audit of the people in their lives to see if they are choosing to surround themselves with individuals who cause unnecessary stress.

This practice is something I've incorporated into my own life: paying more attention to how people are willing to show up and learning to ask questions before assuming.

Although sometimes assumption is your best friend.

Last week, I had a date lined up with a guy who seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. I enjoyed that we were both the sarcastic type, which made texting easy and comfortable, and I appreciated that I could be my authentic self.

"Good morning, sunshine." I received his text on the third day of talking.
