A tattoo artist turned reality T.V. star, Kat Von D has been known for Goth to Satanic imagery. She surprises by becoming Christian and getting baptized.

I’m looking at her “faith journey” so far.

She was born in 1982, the child of medical missionaries in Montemorelos, Mexico.

Spanish is her native language. Her family was Seventh-day Adventist, as the small town was heavily Catholic, and devoted to the Virgin of Regla, a variation of the Virgin Mary also known as the ‘black Madonna’.

I don’t see that Kat has made this connection, but as I look through her later work, there seems a distinct influence of this Mexican deity.
