Presbyterians to LGBTs: go to hell

During the Minneapolis protests, the PCA put out a hit on sexual difference

The timing could be better? A national conversation is taking place about race and justice, while Christians in the second-largest Presbyterian organization file a report sending LGBT people to Hell. I guess it’s a sign of how committed they are to a better world.

Read it for yourself in the “Report of the Ad Interim Committee on Human Sexuality.” The level of attack is truly breathtaking.

“Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,” Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:32. But the PCA is only interested in war, and thinks the teachings of Jesus are the way to get there.

I’m flipping through the report and a summary, seeing people’s feelings condemned in oddly legal language. Over and over, the PCA holds itself out as sex police, judging that even interest in other people is “sinful.”

As we consider human sin and corruption, it is clear that sexual attractions that have their telos or end in something that God has forbidden are themselves sinful desires . . .
