The sexual history of Pete Hegseth, the nominee for the secretary of the Secretary of Defense, is a current controversy. He is an Evangelical and religious references are involved, so I’m taking a look.

He was born on June 6, 1980 in Minneapolis. His father was a basketball coach, his mother a housewife. They were a Protestant denomination that is said to be similar to Baptist.

As a teenager, Pete had a conversion experience, and Christianity seemed a part of his conservative profile. But he wasn’t much into it. He excelled in school and athletics.

He liked girls too.

He had a Catholic girlfriend, Meredith Schwarz. They went to different colleges—he to Princeton, she to Barnard.

They resolved to stay connected.

He went to Princeton to study basketball.
