On March 27, 2023, the 28-year-old Aiden Hale walked into a Christian school in Nashville and started shooting. Afterward, there was talk of a “manifesto.”

It was widely speculated in right-wing circles to be a “woke” call-to-arms. Today, three pages from notebooks Aiden kept were leaked, as right-wing commentators are saying it’s exactly what they feared.

Is that so? Let’s take a look.

It’s not clear that Aiden wrote a “manifesto.”

That such a document existed was indicated by one anonymous source who claimed a document was a “blueprint on total destruction.”

What police said they found was a suicide note, two memoirs, twenty journals, and various ‘notes’. This seems to have been some kind of large autobiographical project.

A local news reporter says he’s told the leaked pages are not representative of the whole. He posts to X:
