A few decades back no one imagined that in the recent future the automobile industry would grow so much, cars with such a sleek and elegant style, which would go from zero to a hundred miles an hour in just 10 seconds. But presently, we have such types of cars which not only made travel easier but made the automobile a safe and nondangerous ride. The evolution of automobiles is so stunning and classy. But where does it began, let’s find out?

In the early times, human beings have to travel far in search of food and water. Believe it not but travel, the expedition was always a part of us and even now we have to travel states and countries for one or another reason. But travel back then was not as easy as you think. People used to walk and walk for days to reach somewhere. Then humans started to practice agriculture and domesticated animals. Then people used horses and other animals for traveling. Utilizing them saved our time and energy. As the modern era came and a lot of invention we’re taking place like electricity and the steam engine, people were thinking about something that could make travel easier for them.

What was the need?

Even though there were cycles present in the 19th century but that we’re only efficient for a short distance not for a long voyage. We needed something that could run on its own without manual labor which would make long travel convenient. Not only the invention of such a machine would save time but it also would help us to explore various lands and societies. It would connect people and ideas would travel and scour the talents of the world.

How the automobile invented?

There were many endeavors in this arena but one way or another it failed. People tried electricity to run the vehicle, some used other fuel techniques but none of them succeeded. A near successful venture was done approximately 145 years ago. A first cast powered car was built by Sigrid Markus. This archetype has been preserved and can still be seen at the technical museum of Vienna. Although, this was merely an idea in the field of automobiles.

When all the other sources of power found not useful, people switched to the steam engine which was already been discovered by James Watt in 1781. And by the 19th century, it became very prevalent in the household. It did give some successful results but not so much to run an entire wagon on it. A successful attempt was done by Gottlieb Daimler in 1886. He witnessed a wide variety of uses for the gasoline burning internal combustion engine. So he tried that engine first in a motorcycle and it was going well. So he tried it in a car and got good results. While Daimler was focussing on making an engine there was another remarkable man who was trying to make his own vehicle, and that man was Karl Benz.

He was trying to make an engine inbuilt in the wagon for its automatic driving without manpower. Karl Benz successfully created a three wheeled vehicle powered by a four stroke gasoline engine. After this, he drove the vehicle in late 1885 and patented it on 29th January 1886. And that was considered as the birth of the automobile in the world.

This would be unfair to give Karl Benz all the credit and not to mention his wife Bertha Benz. She did finance all his research and spent all the money from her side to support her husband’s work. So Karl Benz with the support and money of her wife Bertha Benz gifted the world with the automobile in 1886. In 1888, they started the production of cars and began to sell cars. Also, they made a public trip in 1888. They traveled a long journey of 100 kilometers from Mannheim to Pforzheim and made people believe that there was a thing that could help you with your trek.

What is how a mind and the support of his loving ones created and revolutionized the exploration of humans and in recent times we are aiming to create flying cars and wagon that can run on water. Cars nowadays are not only for traveling, but they also become a sport. Car racing is an incredibly adventuring sport. So that’s how one’s curiosity can make the world a better and effective place.
