Hi, I’m Ben.
And this is a hub for my thoughts about leadership, books, marketing, and organizational culture.
I love working in teams to tell compelling stories and do audacious things. Currently, I get to do that at Lessonly, where we help teams do better work via our learning software. It’s an incredible startup, with a stellar team and amazing growth ahead. I get to lead our communications and content marketing efforts.
For the previous 5 years, I worked for a Christian non-profit called Young Life. As the director of our Champaign-Urbana and Chicago North Shore branches, I had the opportunity to lead teams of dedicated staff and volunteers. I also advised Young Life on their international social media strategy and produced two podcasts with my friend Justin Ryder. You can still listen to us explore leadership, creativity, and innovation via our podcast On The Frontier.
In 2012, I graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in Political Science and International Studies, with a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Medill School of Journalism. These days, I’m working on my MBA at Michigan’s Ross School of Business to hone my business leadership, marketing, and operations acumen.
In my free time, I try to read at least one book every week—here are some of my favorites! I also avidly study U.S. Presidential history, listen to an ever-growing list of podcasts, and keep up on both the latest Oscar-worthy films and Netflix originals alike.
Born and raised in Chicago, I now call Indianapolis home. Anytime I can walk to the park with my wife (Sarah) and daughters (Annie & Margot) is the best part of my day.
