HomebrewED is a program for Benildean students, associates, or alumni who have an innovation project they’d want to make happen.

It’s extra-curricular (your passion project) and runs for 6 to 8 months and completely free to join. And best yet, if you get accepted, you can get a co-working space for you and your team, professional mentorship and up to P50,000 in seed funding!

Who is it for?

The HomebrewED Program is for you if you are a Benildean:

  1. Student
  2. Alumni
  3. Associate / Faculty

You must also have an innovation project, passion project, or a capstone project that addresses a social and/or environmental issue.

What’s in store for you?

The HomebrewED program will help you launch your project through the following:

  • Co-working space for up to 12-months
  • Up to P50,000 seed funding to develop the project and implement

At the end of the program, you will be able to showcase your innovation in front of other incubators, angel investors, grant-giving organisations, brand partners, public and private sector community partners, and high-tier accelerators from our network.

HomebrewED Demo Day 2019

Are you eligible to apply?

  1. The program is open to aspiring Benildean innovators. You can be a solo innovator or a group as long as you have at least 1 Benildean member.
  2. Applicants must have a project that address relevant Sustainable Development Goals and/or modeled on the Human Centered Design framework of Desirability, Viability and Sustainability, with a preference on any of the following themes:

You may submit innovative products, spaces, services, or systems.

3. Conversant and articulate in English

4. Commitment to a 6–8 month program. This is a hybrid of:

  • face-to-face experiential learning sessions
  • weekly check-ins and online/in-person coaching

When’s the application period?

Application is from February 18, 2020 to March 18, 2020.

How do we apply?

When do we know if we got in?

  • Announcement of shortlisted applicants will be on March 25, 2020.
  • If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to be part of a bootcamp before the Pitch Fest. The Pitch Fest will be the final screening for applicants.

Is there a joining fee?

The HomebrewED program is 100% free and powered by Benilde, the Peter D. Garrucho Jr. Innovations Institute (PDGii),and HiFi community of partners and network support.

Is there another way to show my support aside from joining?

Yes! We are always looking for co-incubation partners who will pro-actively shape the future of the nation. Support can be in the form of funding, resource-giving, mentorship, and introductions to network… We are open to ideas! If you are interested, contact us at hifi@benilde.edu.ph
