Emerging technologies have the potential to improve the quality of life in our cities and nation. Join us again for Social Innovation Talks!

What is emerging technology?
The term commonly refers to technologies that are currently developing, or that are expected to be available within the next five to ten years, and is usually reserved for technologies that are creating, or are expected to create, significant social or economic effects.

What is a smart city?
A smart city is a municipality that uses information and communication technologies (ICT) to increase operational efficiency, share information with the public and improve both the quality of government services and citizen welfare.

Gideon Catalan is an Industrial Designer and Solutions Architect at Accelerating Makers. He is a huge fan of using traditional and digital methods to turn ideas into real products. He believes that great ideas can come from anywhere, and digital fabrication technologies make it possible for anyone to design and create. He turned his 3D printing hobby into a passion for elevating makers everywhere to explore and prototype their dreams.
