Networking — What I have learnt over time?
Recently, my friends on Twitter requested that I made a blog post about how I network? — little me, what do I know?

New word alert: Famzing
Famzing, unofficial description for Networking (in some form of way).
Most times, people who do this don’t exactly know the ropes.
Theirs is more parasitic than mutual (my friend, Toro, reminded me of these words).
My intention with this post is to see how we can convert our regular famzing to effective networking.
Below are a few things that might help in our quest for effective networking:
HUMILITY — I remember tweeting sometimes ago that when someone wants to help you, allow them the opportunity to be proud…if not, you are also being proud. Always, remember that in a negotiation, most times the first person to call, has a lower leverage. Hence, the person you are trying to get his/her attention might not even know you exist, therefore, can’t be bothered.
COMMON INTEREST — like, you don’t bond with people without having a BOND. I believe that interest can be cultivated, hence, it can grow. Do you know anything that he/she is interested in? Why not start developing your own interest in that area too…just so you guys can relate on the same plain. Yes, it is that deep!
CONTENT | VALUE— TBH, no truly serious person, would like to have contacts they would never contact. Like, you need to be valuable to your network! There are a number of ways you can be valuable to another. Being good (the Best, perhaps)at doing your thing is value; because, they can boldly say they know you…if you get what I mean.
STALK — That basically simply refers to the time investment that goes into following up on what the person you want to meet is doing on a regular. You become part of his life and then you can almost complete any statement the person is about to make. How fascinating would it be, if you met someone that knows so much about you and is able to sustain a conversation around things you care about?
MEETING OFFLINE?
Watch out for my next post. To be released on Friday, 15th July, 2016.
Thanks once again for reading. This is in no way an exhaustive listing.
I am still learning and identifying patterns. If you already have, kindly share with me in the comment section.
If, you like the picture in this post, kindly recommend (LOL), but you get my point. Let’s get more people to know this. Also, it would mean a lot to me.
