As a Designer at BerandaToko, I experienced firsthand how a design revamps can have a significant impact on the appearance and experience that will be delivered. One of the points that supports this improvement is the illustration used in the latest BerandaToko design. The use of illustrations in the BerandaToko design supports several things.

Make the UI More Informative

In design, all designers want their target users to understand the designs they are making, in this case, it will be more informative if text and illustrations are combined. Because if it only displays text without a visual display it will look less attractive. Text in design serves as a tool to familiarize the user with something, and aims to provide context. By adding illustrative elements, designers can provide a more engaging context for the user.

Illustration Depicts Brand Identity

A brand that has a unique personality is more attractive than a brand that is general in nature. Illustrator becomes a translator and guide regarding illustrations that will be used in a brand, do the images need to be animated or in the form of diagrams? Lighter or darker in color? Illustration style is also influential in describing brand identity.

In this case, BerandaToko carries more of an illustration that supports the brand according to the brand DNA, with a combination of the dominant red color and design illustrations that seem less rigid and more friendly. All of these things make the BerandaToko design look more attractive.

Build Emotional Appeal

Do illustrations build emotional appeal? Yes, an illustration can build emotion, such as lines, shapes, colors, facial expressions, and dynamic curves contained in illustrations have a significant impact on emotional inflammation.

By studying user behavior and the factors that influence their emotional appeal, designers can describe a powerful tool that connects experiences with user emotions of interaction.

Messages are Delivered More Quickly to Users

Well-designed illustrations can enhance the user experience. Illustrations are considered faster than text so users can understand the main message quickly. For example, on the page below.

The illustration quickly illustrates that any trouble or issue on that, if you only focus on the text it will take longer for the user to understand the state of the application. That’s why illustrations can be good for UI/UX, landing pages, onboarding, tutorials, and indicating an error status. A well-crafted illustration can easily explain the meaning of an error message at a glance.
