Senior Database Engineer

Established in 2022, BerandaToko has become an innovative platform, focused on providing solutions to help MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) sell their products and reach more customers. We utilize the WhatsApp Business API to enable buying and selling activities between MSME and customers, making it easier for MSME to sell and easier for customers to get what they want.

Job Description :

1. Maintaining and enhancing the performance of existing database programs
2. Create and assisting database development teams in designing new database programs that meet the organization’s data storage needs
3. Monitoring databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance
4. Writing new support programs and scripts to increase data storage capacity
5. Reviewing database and user reports, as well as system information
6. Performing debugging procedures on database scripts and programs, as well as resolving conflicts
7. Mentoring engineering team and providing them with technical support
8. Adhering to best practices in securely storing, backing up, and archiving data
9. Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance
10. Keeping abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering
11. Administer and maintain database security, integrity, and optimization
12. Develop and run periodic and requested reports
13. Develop new databases and applications
14. Develop new databases and applications
15. Identify and resolve performance and capacity issues
16. Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes
17. Maintain associated non-referential data
18. Manage user rights and permissions

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, here are the skills we’re looking for:

Experience:

1. Bachelor’ degree or above in computer programming, computer science or related field
2. Applicable licensing, certification, and registration
3. A minimum of 5 years experience in database engineering
4. In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and NO SQL
5. Extensive experience with database technologies and architecture
6. Sound knowledge of best practices in database engineering and data security
7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
8. Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
9. Excellent collaboration and communication skills
10. Thorough understanding of database performance monitoring and analysis tools
11. Expertise in database server specification, performance tuning, analysis and optimization
12. Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure desired
13. Strong Experience in database disaster recovery planning and recovery
14. Demonstrated ability to solve complex database administration problems
15. Ability to work with database developers, engineers, and different operations and applications engineering teams to help them to identify, analyze, and resolve database performance issues
16. Experience with MySQL, Elasticsearch, Postgres and/or MongoDB desired
17. Team-player, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
