The design team took a look back at 2021 and gathered their favorite collabs of the year. From streetwear to sneakers to makeup there was plenty of fun, and even surprising, collaborations between companies. Check out a few of our favorites below!

Panera Swimwear Collection

As a fellow soup lover, this collection was everything I wanted and more. The collection features four swimwear styles — two one-piece bathing suits and two pairs of swim trunks — that pay homage to everyone’s favorite Panera menu items, and most importantly…. a bread bowl float. Take note everyone, we’re expecting branded floats next year.

BTS x McDonald’s

Last May, I celebrated my birthday exactly how I wanted to — with the newly released BTS x McDonald’s meal. The pop stars collaborated with McDonald’s to create a meal with 10pc nuggets, fries, a Coke, and two special sauces inspired by the ones served at McD’s locations in South Korea. The meal is tasty, but what really shines is the merch drop — there’s an eclectic mix of hoodies, bags, and even a bathrobe, so there’s something for everyone (or everything, if you’re a mega fan like me)

Crocs x Hidden Valley Ranch

The words “Sold Out” have never hurt more. As more and more people are rocking Crocs, a lucky few will be rocking these Hidden Valley ranch bad boys. Crocs is known for their many 🔥 collabs but this one sold out within minutes and left many of us crying into our ranch buckets.

The Meatball Shop x Vans

The Meatball Shop, BentoBox’s very own customer, has done a total of four collaborations with shoe empire Vans. Their most recent special edition Sk8 Hi shoe features cartoon meatballs on top of the iconic checkerboard Vans pattern.

Elf x Chipotle Collab

I loved the unexpected nature of this collaboration. Personally, I would have never expected Chipotle to blend itself into the makeup world, but here we are, and it works! The makeup line is all inspired by Chipotle’s products, which miraculously translate really well to makeup colors. From their in-store setup to their actual ingredients, the entire line feels true to the Chipotle experience that we all love.

Tokyo Pop x Nightmare Before Christmas x Cracker Barrel

Have you ever wondered what side to choose for your country-fried steak? Well, look no further as Tokyo Pop is bringing a side of spooky manga to a Cracker Barrel near you! This ultimate collab might feel like a fever dream but many can’t wait to get their hands on this manga.

KFC’s Edible Nail Polish

What’s better than a fresh manicure? One that tastes good too! KFC launched a line of edible nail polish in Hong Kong. Each batch is made by McCormick in Singapore and only lasts 5 days in the refrigerator. According to the BBC, the polish had a “nice balance of spice accented by black pepper,” but “no chicken” flavor.

Cheetos x Bad Bunny

Honestly haven’t had Cheeto’s in a solid decade, but after seeing this collaboration with Bad Bunny, I’m ready to cop their soccer jerseys and hop in a local pick-up game. Plus with winter approaching, you know you’re going to need that Cheet(ah) tracksuit to stay warm.
