No one’s quite sure why he did it, but today Arsène Wenger spent 30 minutes with 4 fans on a Google+ Hangout which was streamed live via YouTube. Here’s some of what he had to say. Note: This is a rough transcript of what he said, no exact quotes will be found here.

Q: Who is your favorite player of all time? Someone who you haven’t managed.

A: Messi, Pele, Bobby Charlton growing up.

Q: Most passionate home fans (internationally)

A: England

Q: Asia Reception

A: I remember in Indonesia we couldn’t leave hotel, Vietnam also passion was amazing. Beijing there was a huge crowd extremely late at night.

Q: Favorite holiday location?

A: South of France. It’s an opportunity to gather close friends/family, has bumped into Fergie there.

Q: How long are your holidays?

A: 1 week’s holiday all year. Contrary to popular belief.

Q: What nations are entertaining you with their football?

A: Spain, Germany, Brazil. France and Brazil might come back (to the top in the next WC) because of their potential.

Q: Youth development; Who do you feel has progressed the most at international level?

A: Ramsey, Ox, Theo has cemented his place, the player we wait for is Jack Wilshere

Q: Which countries have you found the most exciting that you’ve visited?

A: Vietnam, Japan. Japan excites me because of their huge respect for others, individual desire and consistent motivation to be helpful and succeed.

Not exactly the blockbuster some were looking forward to, but it’s interesting to see the club trying new forms of media to interact with their fans. Obviously those questions were prescreened, but nonetheless it gave us a bit of insight to how Arsène’s noggin works. The most revealing bit of information was the fact that Arsène gets 1 week of holidays a year. Certainly that rubbishes claims that he isn’t working on summer signings!

More tomorrow.
