Tag-Along — StEP Startup Highlight!
Welcome to the third StEP Startup Highlight!
This week we’ll be highlighting Tag-Along, a medium for people to learn more, stay up to date, and join activities.
Category: Social Network
Tag-Along was started a few years ago by Hari Mari to address the difficulty involved with scheduling activities with several friends. Hari realized that he couldn’t broadcast details to a lot of people and could not update event details easily or in-time. It was even more difficult when traveling and hard to find groups of people to do activities with. Tag-Along was created as a medium dedicated entirely to activities — creating groups and broadcasting details to specific or general groups.
Hari Mari is currently working with a team of 5 people. He has a background in electrical engineering and has experience working in A&B and a startup of his own. The startup was his motivating factor for creating Tag-Along, and it was also acquired by Intel, where Hari works as project manager now.
Hari became interested in StEP when he started looking for entrepreneurial clubs at Berkeley Haas Business school. He was introduced to Berkeley Entrepreneurs Association, where he later found StEP. After attending one of the info sessions, he pitched his idea and joined the program. Hari describes StEP as structured and really enjoys the framework provided. This is beneficial as it helps people who really do not know where to begin in the process. Hari noted that he would like to give a shoutout to our StEP team for the hustle and hard work!
